In 2018, First Step Therapy Centre was founded with the vision of creating a dedicated space for children with special needs. What began as a small initiative rooted in compassion and care has since grown into a trusted center providing therapies and support to empower every child’s development journey.

First Step Special School is a registered institution under the Government of Tamil Nadu and the Commissionerate for the Welfare of the Differently Abled (Registration No. 639/2022). Our journey began in 2018 with the formation of the First Step Trust, with a vision to support children with special needs through dedicated services and inclusive care. In 2022, we officially initiated First Step Special School as part of this mission — a safe, supportive, and specialized environment where children with diverse abilities receive individualized education and therapies.

Mrs. Swathi D
Speech-Language Pathologist | 4 Years of Experience
Ms. Swathi brings substantial experience in the assessment and treatment of childhood language disorders, speech sound disorders, childhood stuttering, feeding and swallowing difficulties, voice disorders, and the use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems. She is also skilled in managing motor speech disorders such as apraxia, dysarthria, and aphasia.
Ms. Dhatchayani G
Speech-Language Pathologist | 4 Years of Experience
Ms. Dhatchayani is well-versed in treating various speech and language disorders including childhood stuttering, voice disorders, feeding and swallowing difficulties, and AAC. Her clinical expertise also extends to neurological speech disorders such as dysarthria, aphasia, and apraxia.
Ms. A. Reshma
Occupational Therapist | 2 Years of Experience
Ms. Reshma possesses expertise in developmental therapy, sensory integration therapy, vocational rehabilitation, play-based intervention, school readiness programs, motor skill development, training in assistive and adaptive devices, activities of daily living (ADL) training, and cognitive behavioral approaches.
Mr. Nicky Reginald
Occupational Therapist | 4 Years of Experience
Mr. Nicky is experienced in providing occupational therapy services to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and developmental delays, with a focus on enhancing functional independence and participation in daily activities.
Ms. Salany S
Occupational Therapist | 2 Years of Experience
Ms. Salany is proficient in managing a wide range of conditions including sensory processing disorders, neurodevelopmental and mental health conditions, developmental delays, neurological and musculoskeletal disorders, as well as learning disabilities.
Mrs. T. Maheswari
Physiotherapist | 8 Years of Experience
Ms. Maheswari has comprehensive experience in physiotherapy, with clinical exposure across orthopedic, neurological, cardiopulmonary, pediatric, geriatric, sports-related, and women’s health conditions. She also has a strong background in community-based rehabilitation.
